February 24, 2023: Nitrogen Purging Project for the Weiyuan-Luzhou Block Shale Gas Gathering and Transmission Pipeline—From Desheng Valve Station to Yongchuan Gas Transmission Station

On February 24, 2023, our company undertook the nitrogen displacement project for the D1219mm high-pressure pipeline—part of the main route on the Weijiang Line in the Southwest Oil & Gas Field, running from Desheng Valve Station to Yongchuan Gas Transmission Station. This pipeline is designed for a pressure of 12 MPa and has a daily gas transmission capacity of 100 million cubic meters. Facing significant safety risks due to the densely populated areas in Luzhou County—where a leak could affect a radius of up to 200 meters—and compounded by delays caused by the ongoing pandemic, our team meticulously developed a comprehensive prevention and control plan. We successfully completed the timely mobilization of equipment and personnel ahead of schedule. At 10:25 a.m. on February 27, we received the official order to begin the critical nitrogen injection process. Despite challenging conditions, including the confined nature of the work area, the large volume of nitrogen required (78.7 m³), and the need for continuous operations, our 13-member team efficiently coordinated two pump trucks and five tanker vehicles within just four hours. This ensured precise execution in the high-risk zone, ultimately achieving zero accidents and reinforcing the energy security lifeline of Luzhou City. Our efforts earned high praise and dual recognition from both the client and the project owner.
