QiuLin 218 Well Testing Gas Recovery and Utilization Project

On July 21, 2023, to align with the nation’s "Dual Carbon" strategy and energy conservation policies, our company successfully commissioned the gas recovery project for the Qiulin 218-8-H1 well test in Yanting County, Sichuan Province. This well is characterized by ultra-high pressure conditions—specifically, a shut-in casing pressure of 56.74 MPa and an oil pressure of 11.19 MPa. Within just 17 days following the order issued on July 4, our team efficiently completed three critical milestones: 1. Customized a comprehensive technical solution featuring an integrated "CNG Recovery Skid + Dual Generators" system (with main equipment capable of processing 24,000 m³/day at 200 kW, supported by two 250-kW generator sets); 2. Ensured all personnel involved were fully certified—holding essential qualifications such as the Well Control Certificate (Level III), R1/R2 Pressure Vessel Certificates, and Safety Management Certificate (Level A); 3. Implemented round-the-clock on-site supervision, with company leaders personally leading the operation around the clock. At 2:00 PM on July 21, the well was initiated for a blowout test, and by 9:30 PM that same night, the first truckload of CNG (totaling 5,350 cubic meters at 19 MPa) was produced. By July 27, the project had accumulated 27 truckloads of recovered CNG, averaging 20,000 cubic meters of natural gas per day. Importantly, the initiative achieved three remarkable "100%" results: - 100% resource utilization, - 100% equipment operational reliability, - Zero safety or environmental incidents. This project marks the first large-scale implementation of ultra-high-pressure gas recovery from remote wells in northeastern Sichuan, setting a pioneering example of green transformation in oil and gas field development—moving toward "zero flaring, full utilization." As a result, the project received special recognition from local government authorities and industry regulators.
