June 3, 2020: Shenzhen LNG Emergency Peak-Shaving Station External Pipeline Trial Operation and Nitrogen Purging Project
The CNOOC Shenzhen LNG-to-LNG Peak-Shaving Station Connection Project and the PetroChina West-to-East Gas Pipeline Shenzhen Branch Line Project are key national initiatives aimed at ensuring reliable energy supply and interconnectivity within the Shenzhen region. Together, these projects span approximately 64 km in total length, linking PetroChina’s West-to-East Gas Pipeline with Shenzhen’s main trunk line and the Shenzhen LNG Emergency Peak-Shaving Station. Once completed, they are expected to deliver up to 36 million cubic meters of clean energy per day to northern China during the second half of 2020 and the winter peak-demand period. This will play a critical role in enhancing the capacity to secure and stabilize the "South-to-North Gas Transmission" pipeline system, significantly bolstering China’s natural gas supply infrastructure.
This construction is expected to complete the pipeline interconnection and joint connection on May 29, 2020, followed by nitrogen purging on May 30.
