April 27, 2020: Nitrogen Purging Project for Ball Tanks at Chengdu Gas Group's Third Storage and Distribution Station
At a critical stage where our company is simultaneously tackling both epidemic prevention and the resumption of production and work, we have been entrusted with the nitrogen displacement technical service for the tank inspection of two 5,000 m³ spherical tanks at Chengdu Gas Group’s Third Storage and Distribution Station. Despite significant challenges—such as a three-day construction ban in the city center and limited site space that prevented the simultaneous connection of multiple liquid nitrogen units—the project team innovatively implemented a "dynamic equipment scheduling" approach. By meticulously planning the rotation routes for liquid nitrogen tank trucks and ensuring round-the-clock, seamless staff shifts, they managed to reduce each equipment-switching operation to within 15 minutes. Construction personnel averaged over 20,000 steps per day, working under pressure equivalent to three times the usual timeline. Yet, thanks to their relentless efforts, the high-intensity replacement task was successfully completed on schedule, safeguarding Chengdu’s natural gas reserves while achieving the dual objectives of zero risk in epidemic prevention and zero delays in construction.
