September 18, 2024: Pipeline Drying, Purging, and Leak Testing Project for Phase I of the Longkou Nanshan LNG Receiving Station Project, National Pipeline Network

On September 18, 2024, our company was entrusted with the critical task of full-system drying, purging, and leak detection for Phase I of the Longkou Nanshan LNG Receiving Station project—the key component of the National Pipeline Network's Bohai Sea Strategy. Facing challenging offshore weather conditions—severe storms, heavy rain, and snow—as well as the complex technical hurdle of drying high-pressure LNG pipelines (with dew point requirements strictly ≤ -40°C)—our project team worked around the clock in relentless pursuit of success. To tackle the persistent issue of residual water in the pipelines, we innovatively implemented an "electric heating-assisted + low-point flange removal" process, significantly enhancing efficiency by optimizing the drying sequence. As a result, we completed the drying and purging of six major systems—including unloading and BOG treatment—20 days ahead of schedule. On January 1, 2025, we shifted into high gear again, taking on the demanding task of helium mass spectrometry leak detection. Within just 24 hours, we successfully confirmed the integrity of the high-pressure export system and completed equipment inspection procedures. By January 20, we had meticulously executed pressure testing and comprehensive leak detection across all six 220,000-cubic-meter storage tanks, delivering flawless results with "zero delays despite adverse weather conditions" and "zero missed detections." Our unwavering commitment to safety and precision earned us high praise from the client, who commended our "solid technical expertise and exceptional execution capabilities," solidifying our role as a trusted partner in safeguarding this vital national energy hub as it prepares for full-scale operations.
